How many books can I take out?

In years 7, 8 and 9 you can borrow 1 fiction and 1 non-fiction book. In years 10 and 11 you can borrow 2 fiction and 2 non-fiction. Sixth formers can take out up to 6 books.

How do I take a book out?

Once you have selected your book take it to the issue desk and give it to the librarian. The book will be issued via the computer system and entered onto your account. This is a permanent record and there is never any doubt as to how many books you have on loan.

How long can I keep a book for?

A book needs to be returned within 14 days. Sometimes ‘project work’ books are loaned for a shorter period of time, but if you feel that you need to keep the book for longer you can always renew it.

How do I bring a book back?

You must bring the book to the LRC issue desk and give it directly to the librarian. NEVER put the book anywhere else, or give it to a friend to return it for you.

What if I forget to return my book?

If you do not return your book on time, you will be sent a reminder during guidance on Friday morning. After a couple of reminders a letter will automatically be sent home to your parents asking for the cost of the replacement of the book.
